The correlation of UN Sustainable Goals (UN SDGs) and Women.

As I started my journey with Sustainability in 2015 (which I began to have an interest in designing food forests), I discovered a larger sustainability perspective provided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs are a set of 17 goals adopted by the United Nations in 2015 that aim to end poverty, protect the planet, and promote prosperity for all. One is the key elements of the SDG is the inclusivity and the protection of women’s rights. Several of the SDGs explicitly mention women’s rights, through gender and diversity, as important considerations for achieving sustainable development. Why ESG and Sustainability Should Be at the Foundation of Your Business.

In my last post, I commented on the fact that Malaysia needs to get a move on sustainability. I did this mainly because I see apathy in the attitudes of people about the dire state of our environment. (Case in point. just yesterday, I blew my top when I saw the driver in front of me threw a plastic cup to the street, without even a thought of who will be responsible to pick it up after him. Arrrrrrggggghh!!!) It’s easy to promote sustainability- just be a hero of the boardroom! With just a bit of effort, you can be … Continue reading Why ESG and Sustainability Should Be at the Foundation of Your Business.

Towards Achieving Malaysia’s GHG Targets

The most critical step to be taken in order to raise awareness and get Malaysia to move on the sustainability agenda before the end of 2023 would be to create effective and comprehensive public education campaigns that reach all segments of the population. These campaigns should inform the public of the potential environmental, economic, and social benefits of pursuing sustainability measures. Additionally, Malaysia should increase its investment in research and development related to sustainability solutions and renewable energy, and establish clear targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 2023. Additionally, local governments should create policies that incentivize sustainability initiatives, such … Continue reading Towards Achieving Malaysia’s GHG Targets

By continuing to raise awareness on the importance of Gender Equality, ESG and sustainability, we hope to create a ripple effect allowing the knowledge to spread further, ultimately leading to the development of a strong and resilient community. SDG 5 which aims to achieve gender equality by ending all … Continue reading Putting Gender Equality at the Forefront of Malaysia’s Sustainability Agenda

One of the hottest topics in corporate social responsibility today is the issue of Women’s position in the corporate world and the effect it has on ESG.
